Dear friends, our first 2024 gathering will be January 18 @ 7 p.m. @ Jason's Deli in Dunwoody. 4705 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA 30338. We will discuss dreams using a group process using different methods and approaches. A transpersonal approach allows us to have different insights we might not achieve by ourselves.
Additional resources: one of our members has an ongoing podcast which focuses on lucid dreams. thedreamworldpodcast.com/ There are several natural ways to increase dreaming. Dr. Jeremy Taylor suggested in his writings that taking B complex vitamins would increase the frequency of dreaming. Tzivia Gover suggests a variety of herbs that might increase the frequency of dreaming, in her book A Mindful Way to a Good Night's Sleep. These herbs include lavender, even hops. I personally have experimented with mugwort and found it very effective. These herbs are neither ingested nor smoked. The fresh herbs are placed in a small sachet, which is then placed in your pillowcase. Anecdotally, I believe that essential oils would probably work in a similar way.
The herbal approach would have a dramatic immediate effect, if they are to work at all. There are psychological approaches that work as well, but take longer to manifest. Dr. Taylor and Justina Lasley recommend keeping a dream journal. My understanding of Lasley's approach is to decorate the dream journal to honor the dreams. This helps create a stronger relationship with our dream-maker. Embellish the journal with imagery of your own design, or something you cut from a magazine or printed from the internet. This helps to create an emotional bridge between your intellect and unconscious. What is the point of a dream journal if you don't have a dream to journal? Here it is important to disrupt the mindset that might be obstructing the dream-maker. I believe the obstructive mindset is to disregard dream fragments or emotions that are vague or faint. On the contrary, by honoring the vague fragments and feelings and pouring intention and attention into them, this is how our dreaming grows. We will be having our first meeting of the Atlanta Dream Collective on August 24th @ Panera Bread, 1625 Mt Vernon Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338. We will start @ 7 p.m. Of course, we will talk about dreams! We will also discuss logistics about future meetings, locations, and frequency of meetings.
